As I mentioned before, I did another maternity shoot with my very good friend Katja. When the pictures were taken she only had 4 more weeks to go and I guess I won’t see her again until the baby comes. I’m really excited to meet the little one when I’ll visit Katja and Jens again in August.

The two of them just recently moved into a bigger appartment which is close to a little lake. So that’s where we went to take the pictures. But walking around with such a big belly seems to be very exhausting. Sitting down on a bench made a nice photo opportunity.

We definitely drew the attention of everybody walking by though. Which was actually kinda fun!

I made them do all kinds of stuff, made them move around a lot and Katja was really patient. As a result I think we got some really cute shots…

The name-tag was Jens’ idea. As far as I know it’s from his clothes he’s wearing at work. It’s the little familys last name…

It’s about 2 weeks ago that I met 3 great musicians – Daniel, Tania and Marius – for a little photoshoot. It was pretty much overcast all day and just when we finished the rain started to pour down on us!

They were totally up to anything I suggested and came up with own ideas too. It was pretty easy to get some nice shots of them. I also liked that I could finally use my polaroid camera again…

I just had to push the trigger without telling them what to do. The pictures came out so good, it’s hard to choose a favorite.

I decided to spice this one up with a nice texture I found online. It was created by Angelique. I just started working with textures and I’m sure soon you’ll see me using them more often.

I actually got a lot more pictures that I like but I think this is enough for today. I still have tons of them left to proof.

I also met my dear friend Katja again to take pictures of her growing belly. So stay tuned…

I know a lot of people can’t wait to see some pictures from Katja’s and Jens’ wedding, so here is a little sneak peak.

When everybody was ready we took off to where the ceremony would to take place. Katja and Jens decided to get married open air at an old temple ruin called “Trianon”. Gorgeous!

And here are a few of my faves from the couple shots.

And of course the wedding rings…

Well that’s it for today. I’m so far away from being done proofing all the pictures. So back to work…

About two weeks ago I visited my friends Katja and Jens to take some pictures of Katja’s growing belly. I’m so excited to finally have a pregnant model around and I can’t wait for us to meet again and take some outdoor portraits.

I realized taking pictures of a belly is actually not as easy as it sounds – especially when you stay indoors with limited light available. But I think we got some cute shots.

Of course we also had to paint on the belly – but we used some Nivea Creme instead of actual paint. So Jens tried to shape a white heart which looked kinda weird. After I tried to make it look more like an actual heart I realized that this was a stupid idea since my hands were all greasy after that. Well, I know better now!

Katja and Jens are also getting married, a week from now. I’m so excited since I get to take their pictures. And this is what they used for their invitations, taken last year.

Cute, right?

I was putting together another slideshow to present some pictures from 2007. This time I wanted to do a piece of couple shots that I took of my friends Katrin and Micha. We did two session, both spontaneously at the worst time of the day (light-wise). Back then I edited some of the pictures but got distracted with something else soon.

Now that I looked through them again I found some shots I really like, but totally ignored last year. We actually got some cute pictures… A lot more than I thought.

We’ll see what this spring and summer will bring. There’s gonna be a wedding in a month that I’ll do. And maybe one or two Band shootings. So stay tuned…

I went to London about a week ago to visit a dear friend of mine. The weather has been so bad on us but it was fun anyway. Of course I took some pictures. So here are a few of my personal faves…

First Liverpool Street Station, where the bus from Stansted Airport took me to, and one of the Underground stations – I forgot which one though.

I did some sightseeing, during day- and nighttime, with and without rain. I’m actually not a fan of “touristic pictures” but since I was there the first time I couldn’t help myself. The Tower Bridge photo is actually a daytime longexposure with my brand-spankin’ new ND-filter.

And of course walking around in such a huge city gets a little exhausting. So how about stopping at a Cafè? My friend and I chose her favorite, Caffè Nero, to hide from the rain and raise our blood sugar to get ready for a shopping marathon, haha!

I also visited Cambridge for a day. Maybe I’ll show some pictures of this later.

Last weekend some youngish bands got together for the so-called Vogtland Rock Event. I went there to shoot one of them – The Fast Lane. They’re kinda like a tribute to Joe Walsh. It was actually the first time for me to take pictures at a concert but I’m quite satisfied with the results. Haven’t been able to edit all of them yet, but here are a few snippets…

Since I didn’t even know who Joe Walsh is I didn’t know what to expect. But I gotta say it was really awesome. The leadsinger Daniel, who is part of who knows how many bands and projects, is an incredible musician. I really enjoyed the show!

The rest of the show was pretty great too. Listened to lots of great music and even met new interesting people. Yay!

A little while ago I purchased some RAW presets and PS actions from the talented Leah. It’s so much fun to play with them.

The first time I used them was when my friend Basti visited me. Of course this ended up in some sort of photoshoot – he actually asked me to take some pictures of him and his tuba. So that’s what I did…

Afterwards we went to a coffeshop and my camera had to come along.

I really love how Leah’s actions work with my photos. The portraits get a very new and soft look. I think they really enhance my photography.

Last weekend I met up with my friend Katrin. We decided to realize something I had in mind for quite a while: We bought all kinds of sweets and stuff to play with. The pictures didn’t turn out the way I wanted so after a while we skipped the candy and took some regular portraits.

We still got a few nice shots though…chocolate

After creating a big mess in Katrin’s livingroom we went on taking ordinary portraits and playing with the light settings. I’m really happy with how the pictures come out at the end. Here are some of my personal faves…hoodiediptych_sw+fstraightdreamy

Some more photos can be found on flickr.

Last weekend I went to visit some sort of mining engineering park that’s close to my hometown Leipzig. There is one big bucket-wheel excavator and a drawer (that’s what my dicitionary said. I don’t know if it’s the proper translation) as well as an old train.

Here are some of my favorite shots I took that day…

I hope I can also post some portrait stuff here soon. I have 2 (maybe 3) photoshoots planned withing the next month. Looking forward to that!
